MONGOLIA Where Dreams Begins

2. Ulaanbaatar -The Capital.

It was the month of May, beginning of the Summer and still cold. It might be the coolest capital on earth. We were here three times, first on the arrival staying at LG guest house and preparing the first 6 days outskirts visiting The White Lake. Second time was busy with hospital and prepare for Gobi Desert. And Third was to back to Incheon S.Korea.
You can't really get lost here, Peave Avenue is the main street. Big building, Towers, Business Centre all here. You may feel like in Russia cause of many old building structure. The main challenge we had was the language. Most of the time they speak mongolian to us. Probably of our skin color and looks like them. Really not many speak english. We had a hard time searching for hospital and communicate with the doctors. When she broke her arm fell down from horse riding in white lake, and that time we were 800km away.
UB guest house runs by Mr. Kim and Bobby the wife. The husband handle the guest house and wife take care of all tour arrangement. They are well known and recommended in the lonely planet. Most travelers engage with agency or guest house for outskirts. Mongolia is a big, huge grass land, almost 5 times of our country Malaysia and with population less than 5 mil. It is quite impossible to travel by yourself unless you are equipped and got time to get lost and plenty of food to survive in the middle of no where.

Museum most of the time not in our list but the Natural History Museum here I think is the only museum you get to see dinosaur (bone...) Entry fees for audult T2500 about RM7 and children are free! Camera fee T5000 about RM14 but no photo on dinosaur. But guess what...

1. Dream and Reality.
India, Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal & Siberian Train are on top of the list we most look forward.

This is the second country we visit just after India. In fact it was just about 3 months time gap in between. Why such a rush? Just after the India trip, sadly there were some friends died at young age. Age around just like us! This trigger us, life is short!

We both had a serious discussion, let's do it! For us. For the kids.
Of cause we still have to face the reality facts. Money. Since children are home schooling which already cut down some expenses, what next? We decided to sell what we can. Airfare mostly causes the first problem, we would love to go in by Siberian Train but given the time we had for this trip. After search and search and compare, we engage with Korean Airline which able to give us lowest price we can get a long with a 6 days transit gap for us to be in South Korea. One ticket, two countries. Deal.

We leave home early morning at 7.30 to KL that day. Then to S.Korea - Incheon. Flight to Mongolia from Incheon Airport at 6pm and 10.30pm, Chinggis Khaan Int Airport! Touch Down! We engage with LG guest house for the first and second night. Is Clean and reasonable price. Considering our arrived time, a pickup from the guest house would do lot better. Until settle down already 3am. Who cares? you have all the time in the world when travel. Right?

And I must say, when the next sun rise, she get up early then me and this happen less than 10 times in our decade marriage :P
